A: Simple. Just wash your hands (and ideally part way up your arms) vigorously with soap and water. (Next time you're at a pediatric hospital ask to see one of their hand-washing posters if you want to learn the technically proper way; the procedure involves about 30 seconds of thorough washing with soap and water in every nook and cranny.) We will also tend to be carrying antibacterial gel with us when we go out, so feel free to ask for some before touching Katya (but be aware it's not necessarily 100% effective on its own -- it's still best to wash your hands first). And remember, once you've washed your hands, don't touch anyone/anything else that is germ-suspect until you're done with Katya. If you want to actually hold her, you should be wearing fresh clothes that have not come into contact with anyone/anything that is germ-suspect. Also, kissing her is out -- the only possible exception maybe being if your face/lips have been very thoroughly washed just immediately before the peck.
