Q: What are the expected next big hurdles or survival milestones for Katya?

A: Statistically, survival past six months of age is a reliable predictor for 'likelihood' of survival past infancy, the one-year mark being particularly pivotal statistically. As mentioned above, a major future concern is around respiratory infection. If these kids catch a bug, the repercussions in some cases can be grave. It will be important to try to prevent her from catching viral/bacterial infections that get spread around. Diligent handwashing is likely going to be an ongoing necessity for everyone that interacts with her.
